Since 2019, Specialty Family Foundation has invested $100,000 in LA County’s One Roof program to advance efforts to keep families housed together, at the same time reducing the need for costly foster care. The funds we invested directly support program coordination, problem-solving, administrative services, and technical assistance to help streamline services, reach more families at risk, improve outcomes, and change the trajectory of children and youth all too familiar with child welfare and housing insecurity.

An estimated 66,433 people in LA County are experiencing  homelessness. Since 2019, LA Country has seen a 45.7% increase in unsheltered families. To address this crisis locally, LA County’s housing and child welfare systems have been working together to create integrated solutions that provide safe, secure, and stable housing for vulnerable families who experience chronic homelessness or are at risk of losing their homes. Our investment in One Roof helps support this collaborative effort to keep families sheltered, safe, and thriving together.
